You always hear about how important it is to back up your computer, but we think that if you’re using a Windows 10 device, it’s important to back up your collages, too. So, why would you want to backup your collages, you ask? Here are a few reasons:
- You need to re-install PicCollage. If you just update to a new version from the Store, your collages are still there. But if you uninstall PicCollage first, all collages you have made will be removed. And that would probably make you feel like this:
- You need to re-install Windows. Microsoft does a good job of keeping your application data during an upgrade. But it is always safer to backup your collages just in case.
- You want to use PicCollage on several PCs.
- You want to send your collages to a friend to modify in PicCollage. For example, you went on vacation with your friend and both have photos on different cameras. After you start a collage, you can send the collage to your friend to add photos from another camera. Fun, right?!
To Backup collages on your PC:
In File Explorer, go to C:\Users\<your user name>\AppData\Local\Packages\CardinalBlue.PicCollage_<random string>\LocalState\Collages
Copy the whole “Collages” folder to a USB drive.
Important Note: On Windows, the AppData folder may be hidden and you may not see it in the File Explorer. If this happens, search for “CardinalBlue.PicCollage” in the File Explorer.
To Restore your collages:
This should be done right after you have installed a fresh copy of PicCollage, and BEFORE you create any new collages.
In File Explorer, go to C:\Users\<your user name>\AppData\Local\Packages\CardinalBlue.PicCollage_<random string>\LocalState\Collages
Copy the content of the “Collages” folder back from your USB drive.
Now, how many of you can plug in the the USB correctly on the right try? 😂
