Yes. One may may fail in reaching a certain goal but we can always learn from the mistakes that built up that failure. Through learning from mistakes made, we end up succeeding in a whole new way.

Personally I think it's possible- If you were granted a quest for something and achieved it, but bad stuff happened that you feel will scar you for life, and that that quest was useless, then you succeeded and failed. Also, you can fail to reach a goal, but you can also find another one, one that you did not fail...
