I hate it when people do that, they automatically assume that your parents are lovely and you're just being over dramatic but in reality they have no idea what it's like in your home and they have no right to assume everything is fine and dandy

but the term abuse implies intended harm. if they dont intend to hurt you its not abuse. you may still hurt but thats different. abuse is a very strong word that shouldnt be used lightly.
