I think I'm going to change religions but the religion I want to change to has a lot of stereotypes around it and it's definitely disapproved of by my parents
I say do whatever feels right to you. Your parents are separate people from you. You are your own person with individual beliefs. I understand it's hard to go against your parents though. Just remember that it's your choice how you live your life in the end, not anyone else's.
