I guess she wasn't really focusing on Connie's family being an Indian family so much as just a restrictive family in general. I don't think Sugar meant to stereotype that way, just have a different type of family that happened to be a certain skin color. (I hope you don't take this the wrong way, because I agree with a lot of what you said and have always despised Connie as a character.)
