He says this, yet he has no proof for what he is saying.
but the oldest Rock found on earth is like 3.8 billion years old so isn't that proof?
No, it isn't. If there is an all-powerful God, as I believe, don't you think he'd be able to create rocks on Earth that are farther along according to our current geological dating system? Same with stars. Try something a little more concrete.
but if the bible says its 6000 years old why would this god make the world actually that old so no one can prove against him?
cause if he did then all he did was give reasons for people to question him and why would someone do that that's just stupid
1. He gave us this thing called free will. You can choose to not to believe in him, even if that means denying scientific facts.
that makes no sense all scientific facts point to him not being real so not believing in him would go along with scientific facts
and in my beliefs he didn't give me any free will because he doesn't exist
2. If you look at the evidence in our world today and compare it with the stories of the Bible, it all fits together. Take layers of rock, which many scientists contribute to million and millions of years of buildup. Those layers of rock could easily developed if say, a world wide flood swept tons and tons of dirt and debris around the planet. Guess what? Thats in the Bible.
but rocks wouldn't of just formed as soon as the flooding was done and God already made the world he did that in the very beginning
The rock layers formed over a couple of thousand years. Sediment is in effect today, and it forms rock in lakes, oceans, and rivers. Rock, specifically sedimentary rock, which is the kind of rock we are discussing, forms from layers of said sediment, which is deposited by water.
but still when the flood was over the rock wouldn't just magically be there it would take time for all that mud to turn into stone is that in he bible?
I said it takes time, but nowhere near millions of years. The sediment was deposited by the flood. After the flood was over, that sediment turned to the stone we see today over a relatively short period of time, with certain types of sediment taking longer than others, of course.
yes but lots of layers would take millions of years the wary doesn't have just one layer
No, because different types of sediment would be swept in, as winds and waves changed their directions.
but still that wouldn't make different layers
to make different layers
you'd need a finished layer and then another would be on top and then that would dry so another could be made
if they were all made at the same time it wouldn't be layers it be like a giant mix
That's incorrect. To form rock, sediment must have pressure on it so the particles can fuse. Therefore, other layers of sediment must be on top before those layers could fuse.
but if you have messes of dirt from a flood it isn't going to form in layers like the earth is because it just be one big mess
Smaller particles can slip through larger particles. The particles settle and sort themselves by size.
but layers in the earth get older as you go
so they can't just of all formed at one time
The smaller particles would fuse first, since they would be at the bottom. Each layer would progressively fuse. I never said they all formed at one time. I said it didn't take as long as you are saying.
but the way you are saying it this happened after the flood and I don't remember a part in the bible talking about how it took time for this to happen?
and the rock is dated back to millions of years so it would of taken that long
Some scientists think it took millions of years because they don't believe in the flood.
It's just common sense, and if you observe sedimentary processes, it's very clear.
but we have tested rock
we don't believe we know some rocks date back that's far
does it really matter how old the earth is? no. it doesn't
(also there is pretty much equal evidence for both sides of the creation theory if you have an open mind but I'm not gonna argue with you about it, if you really care you can look it up yourself)
doesn't the bible say it shouldn't be that old?
because then yes it does matter cause if God supposably made however old and it's not that old it's a way to prove he doesn't exist
it however*
so far all the evidence I've heard is about how a flood could of made rock layers and that is no offense but makes no sense
the bible doesn't give an exact age of the earth. but many theologians have come up with a timeline that they think makes sense. that doesn't mean they're right, though. the earth is however old it is and it doesn't really matter
but many religious people think that and won't change their mind
also the theory that science present doesn't fit with the bible so the earth being super old kinda does matter because it can support and disprove theories
the bible doesn't give a definite timeline
the earth could be really old or it could be really young and it doesn't really matter
then why do many Christians say the world is 6000 years old? because lots of people do believe that to be when the world was made
yes not ever religious person does but many do that's why I posted this
well in some ways it does because of people's beliefs of when the world was made
