TheOreoOne, thank you very much. I am sure we will get along too. Personally i like to use watercolor pencils, I have better control over where the color goes, and it is easier to shade. Other than that, you might think this is weird, but I like to use a pallet I bought from target for $20. the colors are really pigmented, and have an even color.

Only problem with water colour pencils is

that when I’m applying water or am on the second layer, it starts spreading like wildfire

But I use this very specific paper, Daler Rowney’s mix media. I’d say it’s fairly priced for what it is, but I wouldn’t count on it when using water colour pencils.

All my art supplies spawns from Amazon, Micheal’s, Walmart or Dollarama. Not the tools that make the artist! I love micheals, as it’s an all-art store (and they sell copic sketches individually) but the PRICES!

Amazon just has everything, Walmart has a bunch of awesome art stuff for pretty reasonable prices and Dollarama is much more reliable than you’d think.

I also do digital art but whatever

when I do water color pencils I color very lightly where i want it light, and a little darker where I want the shading. I don’t normally go in with a second coat because mine are very pigmented. I use Sanford’s Prismacolor Watercolor pencils. 😂 same as you, i get my art supplies from those places as well. they aren’t true art supplies, but ya girl is an artist on a budget. 😂

I love amazon! it has cheep but great quality art supplies. I recently got an off brand Copic markers, and they are the best! They are the brand Ohuhu. they aren’t as good as copics, but work really well if you want alcohol markers.

I’ve heard of Ohuhu! I only got 2 markers (friend gave them to me) and I really liked them, but I still stick to Copics.

Mainly because the vibrancy is very consistent.

Do you ink your drawings? I do. I like the way it separates colours and ideas. But sometimes I stick to not inking them. Cause with ink, either you get a super win, or a super lose.

Micheal’s, as I mentioned, has every art supply you could imagine! But I hardly go there, because priiices :(

Copics blend super well, but I mainly only use my copic sketches on Daler Rowney marker paper because I ain’t wasting markers I paid so much for!

I don’t ink my drawings, because I don’t have the supplies yet. I am planning on buying this this summer, but I haven’t yet because with school and all I haven’t had much time. And sometimes I like just plain pencil better. I know! michaels can be expensive! I actually have one opening up down the road from me, so hopefully i can go there soon.

Finally another art person

There’s this girl at my school. Shows up every day with traces drawings. It makes my skin shake! Everyone’s always calling her ‘art queen’ and when I confront her she says it’s “all a big coincidence~”

When everyone asks her to draw at school she has an excuse. “Oh, I need to be left alone to draw,” or something along the lines of “My arm really hurts!”

It’s pretty frustrating.

I love talking to you too! YES!!! I have a girl like that at my school too! she gets on my nerves 😠

It’s like they don’t understand how hard it is to produce artwork.

oh no! that’s terrible

I brought in a canvas to show my art to my class (my teachers let me) and she spills orange juice on it.

oh my goodness!

I bring a sculpture in, she snaps the top.

that’s just cruel!!!

I am just drawing, she scribbles on it.

and calls it, “a joke”

I spent 3 non stop hours making a landscape of a forest, she trampled it by ‘accident’

And worst of all, she traces MY drawings, then says I copied her. And when it gets to that extent, I stop bothering.

Anyways, I know we’re going to get along!

that’s terrible. I hope that karma reaches her soon. 😂 yes, we will get along just fine.
