I don't think them calling her by her character name has anything to do with her race to be honest

I mean no fault to her for correcting them that's cool but the people captioning the post are over analyzing it i think

^^it used to be a gif and the original had the announcer pronouncing her name incorrectly ("owulee cravalho" or smth) and she corrected the announcer for pronouns ding her name wrong. the name moana was there to state the movie she was representing.
