Perhaps the most heartbreaking quote from the Merlin series. The show at times can be cheesy, but the philosophies in it are truly reflective of the time and culture, and it's very interesting. Amazing character development and amazing story. The Arthurian Legends are my favorite things. It's unlikely that King Arthur ever existed, but the story of him helped to create a bond between the United Kingdoms, an idea that the love that binds us is stronger than the power we wield. It is the story of the outcast, the loyalty and love that truly unites diverse people into a home of perfect Albion. Forever favorite.
The accumulative struggle between the beliefs of Paganism and Christianity is unique in that the same ideas of fate and free will Are questions people continue to struggle in answering, which is probably another reason why I feel so much for the Legends. Especially the idea that, to actually quote from doctor who, "We're all stories in the end."
People hope to live on through stories if not in heaven, and there is a sincere element of how life exists after death through the memory of that person. It's something we all want, if nothing else: to be remembered and loved.
this is my favorite show *arthurian legend nerd fist bump*
