deMON KITTY- aA she so pretty :00 @caption, ooOh, I can’t wait!!
re//: ah, good, nice to know you’re doing ok! and ooh, that’s so cool! :00 is this the story with Rou, Rei and Rea.?
re//: yESS!! I can’t wait to see what you draw! and I definitely want to try and draw more pride art this year, I did very little last year and wanna make up for that
^everything went well!! the vet was v nice, he wanted to basically succ the egg out of her but she passed it just after he imploded it luckily. she has minimal nerve damage because it was squashing them, and her body was very low in calcium because the egg was taking it all so she has medication she refuses to take lol- but she’s doing well!! she’s calmed down a lot, it’s been almost a year now since I got her. I never thought I’d ever be in this position, she lets me scratch and even kiss her head and neck, the belly is a no go zone tho lol :’)
re//: our cage top opens, so we just open that up in the morning and let her come out. she flys around and just does whatever she wants really. we have large glass windows that open into our garden and she loves sitting on the handle in the sun and watching the birds outside. she’ll fly over to me or someone in my family and sit on our heads or legs, she sat on my knee this morning and fell asleep grinding her beak uwu
^basically when she started doing egg laying behaviour at the start on summer (mating with her toys) we encouraged it so ended up laying a clutch. when she started doing it this time we realised that maybe we shouldn’t do that, so we’ve removed her ‘love toys’ and made sure she can’t mate again. we also gotta put her to bed early to mimic winter. if she does end up laying them again (hopefully it won’t-), we just gotta supply her with calcium and sunlight and possibly with dummy eggs so she doesn’t lay that many (for example, I kept her old eggs in the fridge and placed them down with her new ones, so she thought they were hers. it actually worked and only ended up laying three this time compared to five last time)
the third egg ended up causing her to become egg bound unfortunately, buts it’s ok now. we know what to do, how to support her and who to call if it ever happens again
