what I learned from just crying my eyes out for 2 minutes and my thoughts racing for about 15: there are different types of love and you don’t have to love everyone in your life the same way because the connection you have with one person may not be the same as another and connections with different people are made on different levels and in so many different ways but this doesn’t mean any different way is more than the other and it doesn’t disqualify how much you care for anyone, it just makes it different

bc when you think about it you could never really choose between that loyal, comforting love you get for someone who’s like family (or is family) to you and the love for someone who you click with like a puzzle piece

and just bc you crave a different connection with a person does not mean that the existing connections you have with people in your life are not valid or enough

just like a person can have friends and still want a significant other, I think there are similar differences in connections among the general category of friends
