I kinda see what you’re getting at with the player and I’m glad that you don’t think Chara is misunderstood I feel the fandom let’s Chara off the hook and gives her special treatment as soon as someone comes with a ridiculously tragic backstory but completely turns a blind eye to Chara’s abusive relationship with Asriel which really bothers me plus I always found misunderstood Chara to be bland, whiny, and annoying she is just more interesting as a villain plus I don’t like how the Chara fans harass people if you don’t believe that Chara is some sort of angelic saint/emo stereotype and it really made me despise Chara because her fans have become more idiotic than the Sans fangirls

and yes Frans is VERY unsettling the fact that it makes Sans rapé a child is the most unsettling part about it
