Yep this is me at school on casual clothes day, I had to cover up my shoulders with a jacket because apparently they can distract guys. This paragraph thing is inspired by a conversation I had with some of my aster sisters, Sasha (@xoxo_fandom_sass) and Reagan (@Pastella_Princess). So basically we were talking about dress codes in schools and how they really suck. Now my school is a uniform school however every now and then like today, we have casual clothes day. The thing is though, casual clothes day isn't really "casual" for girls. There are so many restrictions girls have in what they can wear it's stupid! Ok I can understand why girls can't wear crop tops and short shorts (as in shorts that show your bûtt) to school but the restrictions beyond them are honestly unnecessary. Apparently, the dress code is to prevent boys getting distracted in school...Schools don't allow girls to wear tops that expose their shoulders, HOW DOES SHOULDERS DISTRACT PEOPLE?! *turns to a male making up dress code rules* I'm sorry dude if my shoulders aröuse you but that's your problem, you should be able to control yourself and be able to focus on your work rather than my shoulders!

Sorry that sounded aggressive but dress code really annoys me. If schools are going to make a dress code, they should imply dress codes for both genders, because if female shoulders are gonna distract boys, then male shoulders should distract girls. When someone gets distracted because of someone else's clothes, it is not the person who is wearing the clothes' fault, the person who gets distracted is at fault. It's just like rape, it's not the victim's fault regardless what they're wearing, it's the rapist's fault. Instead of forcing females to cover up, teach males to not get distracted and control themselves! Otherwise dress codes should be implied for both genders, because believe it or not, females are human beings too and are perfectly capable of being distracted. When you think about it, dress codes subtly imply how schools see a male's education more valuable than a female's 😐.

Ugh I feel the same way! We can't wear shorts that pass our fingertips at school, and one girl's shorts weren't like bôoty shorts but they still didn't pass the dress code so the principal had to CALL HER PARENTS TO SEND HER SOME "APPROPRIATE" PANTS. Her dad didn't even know why he has to come to school. Like that's just forcing it and nobody is going to be turned on sèxually if there isn't any private part showing like come on. We also can't even wear tank tops unless the strap is wider than 2 fingers. WHAT KIND OF TANK TOP HAS STRAPS WIDER THAN TWO FINGERS?? Seriously does my collarbone arôuse you? This is just enforced way too much and completely degrades freedom for women to do what they want. Guys can go to school however they want. Hèll, there isn't even a rule against them going to school shirtless! 😠😠😡😡😤😤😱

I can relate though me and a few friends of mine worked together and started a petition to fix "The finger rule{The rule that states that shirts w/leggings,skirts, and shorts have to reach past out fingers which is a problem for tall girls) and we got over 500 signatures including a lot of guys! Our school has about 700-800 kids at it so it was huge, so now that rule has been abolished 🤗

I completely agree with the dress code thing!! my school has uniforms too and we have similar problems. We can't wear shorts that reach above our fingertips when our arms are straight down. we can't wear jeans or running shorts or leggings or yoga pants. we can't wear crops tops, tank tops, or v necks. it's ridiculous!!! anyways, I want you to know that you are so pretty!!😘💖⚡️

I so get you. I also have uniforms at my school and we also have "casual clothes day." We're not even allowed to where leggings! Anyways our principle reminded us over the intercom about the dress code but she only said girls weren't allowed to where leggings. All the boys (in the class that I was in at the moment) started to plot about how they were going to come to school wearing leggings the next day. They never did it but it was still funny. Our teacher was amused too.

I think dress codes are good on certain levels! I think things like this are ridiculous. As long as a girl dresses to respect herself (so no showing breast in some tight tiny crop top) then they should be fine! The whole no tank top thing is ridiculous!

they banned like everything at my school. (but only for girls of course🙄) no tank tops of any kind. shorts have to be knee or below. no leggings. no ripped jeans (apparently no skinny jeans either, because a teacher told me my jeans were 'too tight'). no headbands. no cartilage piercings. no crop tops. no bra straps showing. no v necks. it's so ridiculous.... you're vv pretty though💓✨

OMG i absolutely HATE dress codes!!!!!! So basically we r not allowed to wear leggings without a dress, or skirt, and the thing is I HATE JEANS. But that's not even the worst part. So let alone showing our shoulders, we r not even allowed to wear tops that have any holes. I get that for some shirts, holes are a big deal, but for others (like on the arm, or crochet with a cami underneath) it's really unreasonable!!! And why should we dress in a certain way because of guys' stupid pubescent hormones?!?!? They can learn to control themselves!!! Ugggh it makes me so mad! (sry for the long rant😅)

ikr the dress code SUCKS!! I'm starting MS soon and I just received the dress code! it says no tank tops and no shorts that are shorter than ur middle finger when ur arm is down on the side! I CANT WEAR ANY SHORTS I HAVE! AND WHAT SHORTS GO DOWN TO THE KNEE!😡 Ugh it made me SO ANGRY! It's the stupidest thing in the world and I wish they changed it!
