yes because as the world continue, after you die someone can remember you. they can pass you on. you can be known. you matter to someone alive. and then they pass you on when they die so there is always someone alive that knows and cares about you after you're dead. that was very confusing so I'm going to sum it up. yes stuff does matter. although I have wondered the same thing myself.
