you gotta do them in layers. I first start with a light wash of the background. so I lightly put down the color of the background. I personally use the wet on wet technique because it’s easier. then I let it dry. i would first sketch out the main things that I want in the piece, like a tree, or a house, the details that matter. if there are other parts that have a lot of detail or that are really thin that they would lose their shape when working I would just cover then with masking fluid so I don’t have to worry about it getting wet and then I work on those last. hope I made sense
btw this is nice

hi hello are you fellow terato?
or at least a monster fan?
great
how old are you?
if you’re around twelve or something like that, a teratophile is someone’s who’s interested in the idea of monsters romantically
and other ways but I’m not gonna say what
think “ shape of water” or “ beauty and the beast “ before the beast gets turned into a human
oh good
no I just don’t know you that well
I’m sorry I’ll ask weird questions on a different post next time
yes. yes I am
I asked it because you have a lot of drawings of monsters
re// ehh I’m not doing so great (mr. stark)(sorry I thought it was funny) but um my little brothers just an äss to me a lot and it really brings my self esteem down lower than it already is
