for the days of the week thing so far I have feminism Friday and sèxuality Saturday. any other ideas?
why is this so sad?
because Disney is teaching little girls that you have to have a waist that's thinner than your neck and its making a lot of little girls feel insecure
that is why it is sad
don't you see a difference?
it's not really sad. they're cartoons, which are supposed to have overly-exaggerated features. with this logic, you could also say it is telling girls they have to have those big eyes, too.
the only thing I was thinking about when I was little was how pretty the dresses were. little kids don't think about bodies, they don't have the thinking capacity for that yet.
@izzy_z the ones on the right are not "fatter". they are a healthy size that no one should be skinnier than
since when was unhealthily skinny considered perfect?
that's ok
no one should have to change their look to be considered socially acceptable
you really think that's what little girls learn from Disney movies? No. I have 3 younger sisters who grew up with Disney, and you know what they learned? they learned kindness and they learned to use their imagination.
yes ^^ little kids do not think about their bodies. the only way they would is if they have one of those "modern" parents that uses gender neutral toys and talks about this stuff all the time
because it's put into their heads
well if they were very little then they probably wouldn't think about things like that but when they get a little older, the idea of being that skinny will be plastered into their minds and later may lead to insecurities
and no, I'm totally not saying that Disney isn't teaching little kinds to be nice. it's just that some of the images are upsetting people
oh no! your innocent little feelings are hurt!! what a shame!
I have watched Disney my whole life and I have never cared even a little about my weight or how my body looks.
yea but maybe if they made them look like NORMAL PEOPLE, then teens could lover their expectations for their size
I don't know that many teens who still obsess over Disney princesses
I do. u mustn't have that many friends
idk in my eyes they still look super skinny xD weird that it's never actually occurred to me when I was watching all the movies
