Hey guys! Sorry I haven't been very active lately. I'll try to be on more next week. I still love you all so don't give up! You're perfect the way you are! :3
Okay ya'll, ranting time (no one will ever see this and that makes me happy).
So I have a question, why are gender norms so freaking important to everyone? I don't understand it. I mean, in orchestra the uniform is to wear a dress because it's "traditional." When I told my family I would rather wear a tux even though I'm genetically a girl, they laughed and told me it was me on problem to deal with. Why though? It's so important to keep traditional views on life and eventually we forget about modern views. There's transphobia out there and sexist views on life make it impossible for many to live happily.
Not only this, but why are girls treated differently than boys? We are all raised a certain way because of our genetic gender so when we get older, confusion about your gender sets in if you are not a living steriotype. We shouldn't be raised that way, instead we should all chose our own way in life instead of making it impossible because of your parents choices. This is wrong on so many levels and I really hate it. I was raised a girl and at the moment I don't feel like any gender, a combination, or even agender. I have no idea and I wish that in this society they raised you differently so you would know. This is the twenty first century, I should be able to wear what I want, do what I want with my life, and not be told I can't because I'm not strong enough. This world is so sexist and I don't know why we don't change it. Why are we afraid t give others power? Why can't we let others wear what they want regardless of gender? Why won't anything change?
