If you're interested in trying to decide your position with an idea like this or similar ones (an answer always comes with twenty questions!), I suggest learning about philosophy from books or online. CrashCourse Philosophy is great! I don't believe in fate or destiny. I think that there are an unlimited number of ways we could end up, dependent on our choices, the choices of others, and other variables. This perspective can be terrifying, because of the responsibility--"A definition of hĂȘll; when you die, you meet who you could have become"-Unknown, but also empowering, because of the freedom--"The light beyond my eyes flashes with a million futures for me. Doctor. Ship's captain. Forest ranger. Librarian. Beloved of that man or woman those children or those people who voted for me or who painted my picture. Poet. Acrobat. Engineer. Friend. Guardian. A million futures--not all pretty, not all long, but all mine. "You lied!" I say. "I do have a choice."" -Laurie Halse Anderson.
I believe that yes your actions do affect things in the future I've looked back on the past so many times and seen I could've done this or this and this wouldn't have happened...so ya I think LIFE likes to throw us a curve ball o that and we need to learn that our actions or decisions have consequences on our future and our whole life and maybe even the way we live.
