I agree, sometimes if they JUST rely on asking, then yes, but if they do other things as well, and ask only once in a while, it’s fine. if it’s a contest, I don’t mind joining, and if it’s something important to them, I don’t mind making them feel happy, but yes, I do agree when they only ask for followers/liked and not do anything else it’s kind of annoying. especially if they don’t even know you very well and like, aren’t interested in getting to know you as a person.
