“That’s me!” She yells a little to loudly. “Sorry,” she says looking at him hopefully.
She walks over to him and concentrates on trying to walk in heels. She starts to walk with more confidence after getting the hang of it but ends up slipping.
Ethan smiles at her, “So tell me a bit about yourself,”
She gives him a lopsided grin back. “I love singing! And playing violin. I’ve never met a prince before and I might be nervous.” she spits out quickly. And then with an extra thought adds “Do I look nervous?”
She tries to shake it off. She composes herself and looks at him. “Can we start over? My name is E’Claire. I sing for my job but secretly indulge in books that the local librarian gives me. I love to read! And between you and me, I love it more than singing or violin.” She then smiles at him,”So what does the world not no about the famous Prince Ethan?”

Ethan laughs, “Well, I’m also a singer and I play guitar. I love adventure, horseback riding, and archery. I have two sisters...is there anything else you would like to know?” he smiles.
She smiles slyly, “What is one thing you’ve never told anybody? Something that you hate or love about being a royal?”
“I wish that my father would be more fatherly.” he said, “But it’s to late now,”
She nods sympathetically. “Believe it or not I can relate. My dad— well— he was always about work and how much money we had. All I ever do is try to make him proud yet never once has he told me good job. Never once has he smiled at me.”
She pauses, realizing what she said, “I’m sorry. I don’t mean to burden you with my life’s problems especially as we meet for the first time.”
“No it’s fine. My father is long gone now, so it’s not like it matters anymore...so what about you? What is something you haven’t told anyone?” he asked
“I...” She pauses. “All I do is work. I just... I just wish I could change something. You know? Inspire people to do better. And dare I say in front of the prince... possibly change the cast system so there is equal rights? That’s what I believe in. That’s me at the core. ”
“I want everybody to have an equal chance of happiness. I want someone to be able to marry who he/she loves and get the job he/she wants.”
“Then you would be happy to know that we’re in the process of removing the caste system,”he said
“I am happy. I have so many ideas for the kingdom. If you don’t choose me for the elite. At least let me share them with you. At least help me change something. Do something to make people’s lives better.”
“How about you share them right now?”he suggested
“Ok,” she smiles. The passion is evident in her voice. “I believe that security for the royal family should be raised. After recent events, I think we can both say that nobody in the royal family is safe.”
“I also want to help castle workers by making sure they get better resting areas, better pay, and more time off. This will make the job more appealing.”
“That’s a good idea. However most of the guards are out in the provinces at the moment,” he said, writing it down.
“That being said, it is obvious that everyone in the castle needs to be checked to insure royalty safety.”
“As for the people: they should be able to present problems to the royal family so they can feel as if there voice is being heard. Do not take offense to this but I believe that royals tend to be blinded from some problems because they are secluded behind the castle walls. The people should feel like they have a ruler in whom they can depend on which would also reduce kingdom attacking.”
“I’m sorry if that was too much,” she says as she watches him hopefully. A million more ideas storm her brain yet she wants to get to know Ethan more.
“I tend to get off track. Tell me more about yourself. Not stuff I can look up. Tell me what being you means to you.” She looks at him calculating she waits for an answer.
“Like what’s your favorite song? I find that a single song can tell so much about a person. For an example mine is Fight Song because I believe in being a bold individual who will never spot fighting for what she believes.”
(just pretend like the song is still popular. 😂)
“The attacking is due to rebels which we can reduce to if we get rid of or change castes. I do agree with you about the people’s voices needed to be heard. We have plans to change Illéa from full to a constitutional monarchy. However, we are aware of the majority of the problems, but the thing is no one really knows how much effort it is to change even the smallest of things.” he said, “It’s no problem...” he then said. “Um probably that Inwas a skateboarder,”

She grins at him. “A skateboarder. Hun? Even when I was little I knew you weren’t the average prince. I’ve always wanted to learn how to skateboard. Would you teach me sometime?”
“Yeah of course,” he said, “I’m a little rusty, but I’m sure I can still show you a few things,” he laughs lightly
She laughs too.
“So far I have joined the selection and gotten the prince to agree to teach me how to skateboard. Who am I any more?” She jokes.
He laughs, “Well I’m afraid I’ve run out of time. I’ll see you soon,”
“Ok bye!” (thanks for dealing with me. I don’t have a lot going on for the next 3 days (not including today) so I should be better about being on. (I’m so sorry. I feel terrible.)
